Touchstone Energy Scholar of the Week: April Hoffman

By  |

Tonight's Touchstone Energy Scholar of the Week is April Hoffman, a senior at Leola High School with a perfect 4.0 grade point average.

April plays Softball, Basketball and Volleyball. She also plays in the band and is a member of 4H.

April Hoffman has a message for people who ask her about her time in high school; you will get out of it what you put into it. "Because it prepares you for the future. No matter what. If you work hard everyday throughout your whole senior year it will pay off no matter what."

April says she has to work really hard at finding a balance between her vigorous schoool schedule and her atheltics schedule.
But says she wouldn't trade any of it. "Enjoy every bit of high school and try your best, respect others and the rest will follow."

Leola High School Principal Bev Myer says April is truly one of those students you wish you had more of. "She really mentors younger kids. She has a positive attitude every day when she comes in the door."

April Hoffman says her time in high school in Leola has been great but she is ready to move on to her next challenge. "My future plans are to attend SDSU and major in nursing."

For being named our Scholar of the Week, April receives a $100 scholarship from FEM Electric Association, which is a local Touchstone Energy cooperative.
