Twin Cities prepare for Super Bowl 52

(KSFY) - Minneapolis is getting ready for one of the biggest games in sports, as thousands of people enter the Twin Cities ahead of Super Bowl 52.

KSFY's Kamie Roesler interviews Crew 52 volunteers from South Dakota

Volunteers from around the region, including several from South Dakota, arrived early to help with a number of tasks around the city.

The volunteer group is known as "Crew 52." According to the organization's website, more than 10,000 people are taking part.

Super Bowl LIVE has taken over a large portion of the Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis. The area, sponsored by Verizon, will play host to a number of concerts and other events leading up to the big game.

In St. Paul, the annual Ice Palace tradition continues for the city's Winter Carnival, though thousands more guests than usual are expected because of the Super Bowl.

The New England Patriots will take on the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl Sunday at 5:30 p.m. The game airs on NBC.
