Woman crashes stolen car in apartment building, arrested for DWI

SIOUX FALLS, SD (KSFY) - A 20-year-old woman was arrested Sunday morning after crashing a stolen car into a Sioux Falls apartment building.

The crash happened just after 2:00 Sunday morning. A police officer saw the stolen car near 12th Street and Williams Avenue. When the officer tried to stop the car, the driver refused to stop. The officer continued following the driver until losing sight of the car. The officer heard a loud crash and found the car in the 500 block of South Kiwanis Avenue, where it had crashed into an apartment building.

The officer saw the driver running from the car. Sissy Jo Felicia was arrested after a short chase on foot. She faces charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, aggravated eluding, hit and run, reckless driving, fleeing police, ingesting a controlled substance and DWI.

The car partially entered the apartment. Four people inside at the time of the crash. One man sustained minor injuries to his leg. A woman and two children were not hurt, but were covered by debris during the crash. The building has several thousands of dollars damage.
