Woman in deadly Alcester rehab center crash pleads guilty to driving citation

(KSFY) - A woman who authorities say was behind the wheel in a deadly crash at an Alcester rehab center has plead guilty to a careless driving charge.

Eighty-one-year-old Patricia Berg appeared in Union County court Thursday morning.

Back in July, Berg was driving her car into the driveway of the Alcester Care and Rehab Center when authorities said she stepped on the gas instead of the brakes. She crashed into the center, leaving three people dead and several others hurt.

In addition to a $120 fine, judge Crystal Johnson revoked Berg's license for a year.

When asked by the judge if she had anything to say, Berg said "I'm just very sorry."
