UPDATE: 21-year-old motorcyclist injured in 41st Street crash

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - Police say no charges have been filed after a crash on a major Sioux Falls street left a 21-year-old motorcyclist injured Sunday night.

Public Information Officer Sam Clemens said the crash happened when the male motorcyclist from Sioux Falls was driving west on 41st Street around 8 p.m.

A 2016 GMC Canyon pickup was driving east on 41st Street. When the driver turned to enter a business, the motorcyclist allegedly hit the pickup, which caused him to side-swipe another pickup, Clemens said.

Witnesses told officers that the motorcyclist was driving fast, Clemens said.

He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Clemens did not have an update on his condition.

Officials are still investigating the crash.

A serious motorcycle crash near the intersection of 41st Street and Shirley Avenue in Sioux Falls shut down portions of the street Sunday night.

Police say the crash happened around 8 p.m. Sunday. The driver sustained non-life threatening injuries in the crash. No one else was injured.

Police remained at the scene for several hours investigating. SFPD says the preliminary investigation reveals speed may have been a factor. The investigation is ongoing.
