Senator Obama says leaving his home church in Chicago comes with great sadness and talks about how he feels about addressing politics in the pulpit.
Senator Obama also recently turned down an invitation from Senator John McCain to tour Iraq together.
Senator Barack Obama hopes to get the democratic nod for President and South Dakota is one of the last stops on that road but the journey has not been easy.
The most recent example, offensive comments from a Catholic priest speaking at Trinity United Church of Christ.
"Since this is the second time that something like this has come up involving your church, how do you feel about the rhetoric involving your church?"
"The truth is I think that all of us...we don't go to church to worship a pastor or a sermon. We go there to worship God. I'm sure that a lot of Catholics may disagree with some positions the Pope may take. I think none of us agree with everything that has been said from the pulpit. I think it would be a mistake to impute to any candidate everything that has been said in a sermon. Certainly that hasn't been done to other candidates. I don't expect it would be done to me."
Iraq is a focal point in Senator Obama's campaign and he recently turned down an invitation to tour Iraq with Senator John McCain.
"You called this a political stunt. Hillary Clinton recently said that she and Senator McCain toured Iraq together. Do you plan to tour Iraq again and if so when?"
"I expect that I will be in Iraq after we wrap up this nomination. I don't want to go in a situation where you've got two presidential candidates, secret service, a bubble that's created."
Barack Obama says his energy and focus right now is on the South Dakota primary.

Dear American Voters, Hon. Senator McCain and Obama, besides each having many attributes and characteristics. The critical differences in my professional, political, and personal opinion are as under: 1. Presidential "Temperament and Composer". 2. Little Washington "insider Versus outsider" connectedness. 3. Vision and mission for our nation future rather than past. 4. American policies first USA centric than other countries centric. In my professional opinion one senator has it

Not even a Boy Scout. And now he wants to be Commander in Chief. No record but selfish ego. The fact is we are in Iraq already and we cannot leave like Obama wants. 2 wrongs don't make a right. The Geo political theater now does not allow this. Obama better learn about the world first before making foolish statements. Another Bush on the rise inexperience BS talker.

"... we go there to worship god." Note to Dawn Crawley: When someone makes a statement like that, they would capitalize the name of the entity that is the object of worship. Your placement of a small "g" is a slap in the face to to Obama and the religion he professes to be a part of. And a question: if this were a person mentioning "Allah", would you have used a small "a"? I think not.

Obama should get the same treatment as given Hillary Clinton. If he did, unlike her he would not still be standing, he isn't tough enough.

AMEN, SEN. OBAMA, DO THINGS ON YOUR OWN SCHEDULE AND NOT THAT OF TWO LOSERS. MCCAN'T FEARS YOU GREATLY, WHICH IS WHY HE TRIES TO GET OVER BY TRYING TO RIDICULE YOU. HE SUCEEDS IN MAKING HIMSELF LOOK LIKE A CANDIDATE FOR AN ASSISTED LIVING FACILITY. GAS, HIGH FOOD PRICES, THE ECONOMY IN GENERAL AND ENDING THE WAR ARE OUR CONCERNS. HILLARY AS VP? BEWARE THE IDES OF MARCH!!!!

I love the critieria espoused by Khajawall above:
1. Sound/sustained Temperament 2. Little "Washington exposure", 3. Vision 4. USA-centered
What's so sad it's funny is that you used to espouse other things as being crucial... Until you discovered Barry doesn't have them: Judgement, Character, Integrity, not racist or ageist, doesn't tear others down.
Barry Obama: inspires those with little experience or understanding, who want change, whether it will help or harm.
