Heidepriem: We Can't Raise Taxes

By Drew Sandholm

Senator Scott Heidepriem says now is not the time to raise taxes. Since he announced he's running for Governor of South Dakota in 2010, the Democrat has been speaking with people around the state. Heidepriem says those conversations have led him to believe that raising taxes now or in the foreseeable future would hurt South Dakotans. "What I hear from people in South Dakota is, you know, the economy is still in the tank," said Heidepriem. "Let's step back from tax increases and decide whether this is really the best time to impose new taxes on the people of South Dakota." Heidepriem spoke in a live interview with KSFY's Drew Sandholm on Sunday's Live At 5:30 newscast. Yea, we have enough taxes now so sure don't need more. Once said that people were going to be taxed to death and that looks like what is happening to us. lets not get any more taxes, Scott.
