A quick thinking clerk thwarts an armed robbery attempt at a Sioux Falls casino.

Also, we'll show you where thieves stole cars in the city last night.

The attempted robbery happened at Jacksons Casino at 825 South Minnesota Avenue in Sioux Falls.

A little after 1:30 this morning a female clerk on duty called police, saying a man had come in attempting to rob the place. She grabbed the keys to the cash register and her cell phone, locked herself in a closet and called 911.Detective Sean Kooistra tells KSFY; "Prior to police arriving the suspect had fled through a back door of the casino."

The robbery suspect is described as a male wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, black jeans, black leather gloves, a black ski mask and white tennis shoes.

Car thieves are at it again in Sioux Falls.

Vehicles were stolen overnight from 54-hundred block of West 50th Street and the 22-hundred block of West 12th Street.
