The Clay County Sheriff's Office is looking for 29-year-old Benjermin Kelley.

According to Sheriff Andy Howe, Kelley was found guilty of sexual contact with a minor under 16 years old. The crime happened in Lake County, but in 2007, Kelley moved to the Vermillion area. Shortly after settling into his new home, Kelley failed to register with the state.

"The reason we have the Sex Offender Registry is because these people are often known to re-offend. Obviously, not everyone does, but some do and the risk is too great," said Howe.

That's why authorities need any information you have on Kelley. Howe said, "He's in somebody's neighborhood and non-compliant. So we want to bring him into compliance."

I think I might have gotten drunk with this guy one night a few months back. Semmed nice enough. FYI: just because a sex offender 'fails to register' doesn't mean he/she's out targeting your kid. He forgot to fill out some red tape paperwork. It's not like he's peeping in your kids rooms as we speak.

Obviously you don't have a clue about sex offenders. Not to mention you don't have a clue as to the whole story. Those of us who were around when he pulled this "stunt" as some term it, know the full story. Ben belongs in jail, plain and simple! If he isn't caught, he will re-offend! Of that I have no doubt.

Dylan, Ben is highly aware that he is a wanted person and he has never lived up to any of his responsibilities. He needs to be punished for all the innocent people he has hurt in his life. Ben is a con and finds ways to get whatever he wants from people. Dylan, next time you go out and drink just remember apparently you have very bad judgement when you are drunk!!
