If you're thinking about buying a home or if you're in the market for a new home right now, you want to make sure you're getting the best home for the price. Financial expert Aaron Maguire has 5 easy ideas that you can follow to get the best home for your money.
1) Define what is important to you
· Is it the location? Do you have children and are schools important? Is it the price?
2) Use a Realtor
· Find a Realtor that has experience, and one that listens to you and does what you ask. Let the Realtor find the homes for you in the location you want
3) Find out as much as you can about the home you like
· How long has it been for sale? How old is the home? Are the sellers motivated? What have the other homes sold for in the area?
4) Shop around for financing and see who has the best deal
· Ask about the interest rates available, and ake sure there are no pre-payment penalties on the mortgage. Also find out how much their closing costs are.
5) Buying a "fixer-upper" requires vision
· You have to be able to see beyond the pink walls and shag carpet. If the problems with the home are only cosmetic then I would seriously consider buying a home that needs a little work. You can often times negotiate with the seller by offering a lower amount or requesting a repair allowance to buy the home.
