The first day of kindergarten is a big day in just about every child's life. But how you prepare can make a big difference on how boys and girls adjust to their new environment.  The Sioux Falls School District is hosting an informational event for families of all children eligible for kindergarten in the fall of 2008. It's called "Here Comes Kindergarten" and it will be held Thursday, January 17th at Terry Redlin Elementary School.

The event will provide a general overview session on curriculum at 5:30 and again at 7 p.m. At 6:15, there will be break-out sessions covering students with special needs, English as a second language and the Top Ten tips for getting ready for kindergarten. There will also be information on school district boundaries, after school care and child nutrition, all aimed at making sure your kindergartener gets off on the right foot this fall.
