This week's KSFY-Touchstone energy "Scholar Of The Week" is Rosie Ahmed of Vermillion High School.
She is a member of the national honor society with the class load to prove it and she has an idea of what she wants to do in the future.

Rosie Ahmed isn't lacking in the friend department.
This is a common site at Vermillion High, Rosie laughing with her friends.
This is also a common site: Rosie rushing from one class to the next, ready to learn something new. "I'm just sticking with a lot of sciences and literature classes." She's being modest:
Rosie is taking advanced placement literature and biology classes, in addition to psychology and government courses.

Cyndie Nelson is one of Rosie's guidance counselors and tell us Rosie is successful for a reason. "She's a very well rounded person as far as her studies, getting along with others, getting out in the community, i think it takes all of that to make a great package."

Rosie says she's looking at attending the University of Minnesota with an eye on helping keep the world green and clean. "I'm really interested in environmental sciences but maybe something, more written based like environmental law."

Rosie tells us she wants to continually challenge herself and make herself better...and we think it will rub off on the world around her.

For being named our "Scholar of the Week", Rosie will receive a $100 scholarship from "Clay-Union Electric Cooperative", a local Touchstone Energy cooperative.
