If you have yet to make plans for this summer, consider some of the many activities at the Washington Pavilion.
From visual and performing arts to science, there's something for everyone ages 5-and-under to adults. One camp in particular that KSFY is very fond of is the KSFY Media Camp. It'll be offered for a second summer this coming June.
Ten talented individuals helped us kick off the inaugural KSFY Media Camp in June 2015. Juvyan Abobkar was one of them.
"I got to explore new career options and found out I liked a lot of the things and I would like to go into those things," 2015 Media Camper Juvyan Abobkar said.
KSFY President and General Manager Jim Berman says this camp has been one of the highlights of his career. It offers hands-on learning from broadcast to sales and everything in between.
"To spend time with a group of talented young men and women who wanted to learn our business, I think we got just as much out of it as the students got out of it," Berman said.
It's an exciting 5-day experience for students who want to explore the world of broadcast journalism.
"All they have to do is bring their passion, energy and desire to learn. We'll take care of the rest. We'll teach them the business, every element. By the end of the week, we'll put them into a position where they could be stars. You can't ask for anything more than that," Berman said.
"Everyone should at least audition for it. Go out there, take that chance. It's a great experience It's a week of new information, new activities, experiences. It's amazing," Juvyan said.
The camp is offered for free June 20-24 to high school students ages 14-17. For more information and how to sign up, visit the link to the right side of this page.
