Hydrangea PlantsWow, hydrangeas are truly the latest trend in gift giving fresh flowers. The big blossoms of the hydrangea are beautiful come in many shapes, sizes & colors. This flower is a very thirsty member of the Macrophylla family. Hydrangea will wilt easily if not kept well watered. Keep the vase filled with a solution of fresh flower food. It will keep this water flower fresh for long time. Hydrangea prefers being displayed in an area out of sunlight, away from drafts & not on a heat producing appliance. This beautiful flower prefers a cool temperature, so to hold it for a longer period of time keep in lower temperatures. A care card will come with your hydrangea. Remember to mix the fresh flower food according to the label instructions. This flower dries easily, there are two ways to dry your hydrangea, you can band a few stems together and hang them upside down in a cool, well ventilated dry room. Spray them generously with a flower sealant, like Aqua Net; this will help them resist shattering. The other way to dry them is to let them sit in the fresh flower food solution until the vase is empty, letting the solutions evaporate through the flowers until they are dry. Remember to spray the flower with a sealant until the process is over. Flowers ad so much to our lives – whether they are gifts to others or gifts to yourself. By Pat Gustaf, AAF, SDCF Most Popular |
