WAKE UP WITH KSFY: Vermillion-Small Town, Big Attractions

City Council breaking ground for the new City Hall.

KSFY Live In The Morning anchors Chris Studer and Valerie Gutierrez talk with city leaders throughout South Dakota about their towns, what's happening there and what's new.

They talked to Vermillion Mayor Dan Christopherson. Vermillion has a small town atmosphere with the benefits of big city attractions. It has a population of about 10,000, and is located in the southeast part of the state in Clay County. It's also home to the University of South Dakota.

Mayor Christopherson talked about alot of things going on in the city, including, preparation for the Sesquicentennial in 2009. Also the construction of the new city hall and the city's flag contest (www.vermillion.us )
