By Valerie Gutierrez

Garretson is twenty minutes northeast of Sioux Falls just north of 1-90. Some historians may recall, that it's where infamous American Wild West outlaw Jesse James escaped the posse after robbing the First National Bank in Minnesota. The city will celebrate Jesse James days with a parade and family activities June 20,21,22 2008.

Folks in South Dakota who want to escape the stresses of their life can camp, fish and hike at Palisades State Park and Split Rock Park.

KSFY Live In The Morning anchors Chris Studer and Valerie Gutierrez talk with city leaders throughout South Dakota. This time they talked with Garretson Mayor Gloria Sanders who gave them an update on what's happening in that city.

City leaders are putting the finishing touches on expanding the facilities at Palisade State Park which will now have full facilities and sleeping rooms. Mayor Sanders also talked about attracting tourist to enjoy the city's growing recreational amenities including River Ridge golf course.
