WAKE UP WITH KSFY: Pierre--Making Capital Improvements

By Valerie Gutierrez

These days you hear a lot about a tight job market, but one South Dakota city seems to be bucking the trend. In fact a new company coming to Pierre is hiring about 200 workers with starting salaries at more than thirty thousand.

Each week KSFY Live In The Morning anchors Chris Studer and Valerie Gutierrez talk with city leaders throughout South Dakota about their towns, what's happening there and what's new. They talked talking with Pierre Mayor Dennis Eisnach about the city's new projects. He talked about the new company moving in that will employ dozens of software consultants. Mayor Eisnach also gave us an update on the downtown and riverfront revitalization plan that is about to be adopted by the city commission.

Of course, Mayor Eisnach said, the state capital draws alot people who love going to Pierre for the tourist ameneties like the walking and bike paths, the great hunting and fishing and the capitol grounds with all of the memorials.
