Another I-90 Drug Bust

By Associated Press

The Highway Patrol keeps making big drug busts on Interstate 90.  The latest was east of Rapid City on Friday.  The patrol says 14 pounds of ecstasy was seized during a traffic stop. The street value of the 35,000 pills was put at $350,000.

The Highway Patrol said it's seized more than $1.5 million in illegal drugs in five busts on I-90 since mid-February.

For those who want to believe 1.5m in drug busts since Feb. is in direct result of cutting the SDHP budget your wrong. In fact, all SD law enforcement budgets should increase to better their salary, training, equipment and stronger anti-drug campaigns.

Again, great job SDHP! But when I see an SDHP car sitting along the road, I believe it's called "profiling"! Do not be offended by the truth.

I love how you call yourself a "citizen" yet your whining about our law enforcement DOING their job. They are supposed to -enforce the law-. They're sitting there for a reason. It's not like they're not sitting anywhere else. I commute to Madison 3 days a week and see plenty SDHP along the way. If you arn't speeding or breaking the law then why do you care if they're sitting around Murdo and Kadoka? Get over it. Good job SDHP.

Good Job SDHP! Your hard work and dedicated service is not going unnoticed. I will not even consider voting to re-elect the lieing Mike Rounds. Hang in there, good times will come again when that liar is out of office.

Since the highway patrol are doing a great job of snagging big drug busts it shows that the budget cut on them obviously didnt affect them therefore it was the right thing to do by cutting there budget

Drug busts aren't on the rise - Sit on a grand jury for 16 months and you'll realize just how many drug busts there are. In many instances it takes time for the police to gather enough evidence as well as witnesses. The drug busts that have been making the news lately are because they are so large and therefore they deserve to make the news. Instead of being negative about it, how about kudo's to the law enforcement for stopping the drugs before they are sold.

Keep up the good work and stay on the interstate where you belong, instead of sitting along the roads in the nearby towns.....like Murdo and Kadoka.

crazy how the drug busts are on the rise when the patrol are getting some cuts.....hmmmm maybe if they did this all the time, then no one would ever think of cutting their expenses?
