Former Lawmaker Sued

By Associated Press

One of two foster daughters raped by a former South Dakota lawmaker in a scheme over reproductive eggs is suing him and his wife in federal court for financial damages.  Jurors in Pierre convicted Ted Klaudt of Walker on four counts of second-degree rape involving the girls at his Pierre hotel suite.  He later pleaded guilty in Deadwood to witness tampering to avoid a second trial and was sentenced to a total of 54 years in prison.

The girl who filed the lawsuit lives in Mandan, North Dakota, and says in the lawsuit that Klaudt tricked her so her consent wasn't valid.  Connie Klaudt is accused of knowing about the abuse but not doing anything about it.  She told The Associated Press Tuesday she wishes the girl would have talked to her so she could have done something about it.

Ted Klaudt:What a sad excuse for a human being! The guy should be packed up, and shipped to the front lines. Let nature takes its course.
