The officer in question is still alive, he's been mildly injured, and will probably be spending time in physical therapy for his gunshot wound, shouldn't be listed as a casualty. As far as where the bullet came from, if it was from the people inside the house how come more officers were not hit, and how come the other officers on the scene are being questioned? It seems more likely that a fellow officer's gun was discharged, rather than there being a firefight in Aberdeen, SD.

I agree with PM yeah, there has to be a better way of going about this kind of thing. I understand the whole element of suprise thing, but there has to be a safer way.

Someone choosing to shoot first when encountered by a SWAT Team may not have the opportunity to ask questions later. Opposition to no-knock warrants most commonly relates to "gimmee time to flush the goods".

another causualty in the war on drugs. These military style no knock warrants need to stop. If someone broke into my house in the middle of the night, I'd be shooting first and asking questions later too. I feel sorry for everyone involved.

Sounds like another cop shot him. Not to glorify drugs or anything but too many cops spoil the bust

A person I know lived in the area and always thought that place was a drug house. So it didn't come as a suprise when cops were outside of the house with yellow police tape all around.
