Child Dies at Harrisburg Daycare

Lincoln County State's Attorney Tom Wollman has confirmed that a child has died after being found unresponsive at Snicklefritz Daycare in Harrisburg.   Authorities were called to the daycare on South Cliff Avenue at about 2:30pm. 

Wollman says the child was taken by ambulance to a Sioux Falls hospital, where the child died.  Wollman says there is a investigation underway.

Snicklefritz is an amazing daycare. I work there *the sioux falls daycare* and I knew the little boy that died. his name was Blacklyn and he was the cutest little boy. my pastor went down there to talk to the family and give them reassurance that the baby would live with Jesus forever. God Bless that family as they go through this tragic chapter in their life. and may God Bless you all, and may he abide in all of your hearts forever.

so anonymous...every death is NEWS WORTHY? A significant person in your life passing away whether painfully or quietly in the confines of their hospital room or at home is NEWS WORTHY? Why do you think HIPPA was created? Not every death that is NATURAL is NEWS WORTHY. Get a life! Irrational statements and thinking is what got this story on the air. Kudos to KELO for knowing what "NEWS" is, not ambulance chasing.

It is news becuase a child died. that will always be news. it is covered with the facts on hand. if the day was at fault that will be brought out. All people should be concerned a child died at day care. it could happen to anyone. From my experince with owner Shane i would question anyone sending a child there. A death is news.

being one of the first responders I was appalled to see members of the media trying to exploit such a terrible tradgedy by training their cameras on a very heartbroken family, thank god an editor or someone higher up didnt include that footage in the report. This situation wasnt news as much as it was an ambulance chasing exploitation of a terrible tradgedy. Pray for the young couple.

Tiffany and Shane, the owners, are wonderful people. When i worked there the entire staff consisted of caring, responsible girls that would never hurt anyone! What happened may very well be a natural death. Snicklefritz is a safe place to take your children, please don't let the media influence your idea about the daycare! My full sympathy goes out to Shane, Tiffany and the family of the little boy. May he rest in peace!
