Madison Bus Crash Investigation Complete

By Associated Press

The Highway Patrol's investigation of a March 26 bus crash that killed a car driver east of Madison could not determine why the driver crossed the center line and hit the bus.  The driver, 24-year-old Lance Parliament of Sioux Falls, was killed. Most of the 55 bus passengers and the bus driver were injured.

Investigators said neither driver had alcohol or drugs in their system and neither was on a cell phone at the time. Authorities said the vehicles' crash data recorders were of little help.  Records indicated Parliament's driver's license had been revoked for two reckless driving convictions within 12 months.

The bus was on a trip to a casino in Flandreau.
