Sen. Johnson Reacts To Sen. Kennedy's Seizure

By Kent Erdahl

Senator Ted Kennedy is said to be in good spirits at a Massachusetts hospital, after suffering a seizure early Saturday morning.

Senator Kennedy's doctor says the 76-year-old democratic icon did not suffer a stroke and is not in any immediate danger.

Dr. Larry Ronan says Kennedy is "resting comfortably," and was watching the Red Sox game with his family.

He says there will be further tests over the next couple of days to determine the cause of the seizure, that sent him to a Massachusetts emergency room this morning.

Senator Kennedy's seizure and reports of stroke like symptoms, struck a chord with South Dakota Senator Tim Johnson today.

"This is a difficult time for any family and brings back memories for my own family and me," Senator Johnson said. "Ted is a friend and was source of support during my recovery. There is no doubt that he is a strong man and a fighter. As we wait for more information, our thoughts and prayers are with him, Vicki and the entire family. I look forward to being back on the Senate floor with him very soon."
