A judge says a Marty man who faces murder, attempted murder and aggravated assault charges will stand trial in October instead of July.  Thirty-five year-old Steve Cournoyer the Third stands accused of first-degree murder in the death of 47-year-old Michael "Chico" Costello of Wagner in February. He's also accused of beating 42-year-old Tamara Bruguier of Wagner with a baseball bat.

Defense attorney Tim Whalen of Lake Andes asked for the delay.  After meeting with lawyers for both sides, Circuit Judge Bruce Anderson set the trial for October sixth through the tenth in Lake Andes.

Cournoyer is in the Charles Mix County Jail on $1 million bond.
