Volunteers in Canton fill sandbags as waters on area lakes and creeks rise.

Lincoln County Emergency Management put out the call for sandbagging volunteers this afternoon. The center of operations was a parking lot across the street from the Canton Community Swimming Pool at Sanborn and East 3rd Street.

Lincoln County Emergency Manager Harold Timmerman tells KSFY, water levels continue to rise on Christmas Lake; water is flowing into the area faster than it can be pumped back out. Timmerman adds if more rain falls tonight, there will be concerns about floods in Worthing.

Water is also flowing across several roadways in Lincoln County, including Highway 11 just north of the Highway 18 interchange to the northwest of Canton.
