Four People In Critical Condition After Bus Crash

By KSFY Staff

Four people remain in critical condition at a Pipestone, Minnesota hospital following a crash involving a tour bus carrying workers and a truck pulling a trailer.

It happened Thursday afternoon. The Minnesota State Patrol says about 40 people were on the bus.

The truck was attempting to make a right turn when its trailer swung out and collided with the side of the bus.

Traffic reports show it was attempting to pass the truck on Hwy. 23 near 70th Avenue south of Pipestone.

Right now Thomas Fernandez, Harold Brownbear and Randy Hanus, all of Sioux Falls, and Dustin Honomich of Wagner, are in critical condition with head injuries.

Four other passengers from Sioux Falls were treated and released.

First become more educated before opening your, shall we say, typing fingers. The truck probably did not have lights and red flags as it is only required for certain loads on it. The load has to be beyond a certain length/width before state laws require these things. Since the bus was attempting to pass the truck pulling the trailer, I would think that the bus driver made the mistake here. He should not have passed the turning truck.
