Pawn Shop Destroyed by Fire was Burglarized

Firefighters battle flames at the New Asian Food Market.

By KSFY News

A building that burned to the ground last week has now been burglarized.  First National Pawn and the new Asian Food Market on 12th Street in Sioux Falls were destroyed by a fire last week.

Police now say someone stole items still in the pawn shop in the past couple of days.  The owners called police and reported the burglary.  They say someone stole items that were left in the pawn shop after the fire, including ten laptop computers and ten gaming systems.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.

What a dumb ?? why do people usually pawn things....BECAUSE THEY NEED MONEY!! When it comes down to feeding your children or hunting...obviously feeding comes first....

just so some people know not everyone is as priveleged as others so therefore we have to do certain things we really don't want to do in order to take care of our families. i myself dont like pawning things that are important to me but sometimes i have to do what i have to do to be able to take care of my family. try being a single mom that doesn't recieve any assistance and no child support. you would do what you had to do too. so try putting yourself in other peoples shoes before you speak

Thats kinda their own fault for not getting that stuff out of there... theres lots of homeless in that area with nothing to lose- of course they're gonna go steal things if they can and try to get away with it- most of them like going to jail cuz they have somewhere to sleep and a few meals a day!

if you are so concerned about your bow then why give it to the pawn shop?

The comments will begin, it all sounds a little odd that people would steal items that are a complete loss. Or werent they a complete lose?

Thursday, Jul 24 at 6:08 PM i agree... wrote ...

why was I told everything including my bow was ruined. If their were 20 items that were able to be stolen!????? Just curious...this whole thing sounds fishy to me personally. I want to see my bow now/or whats left of it to make sure its really ruined.

How dumb are the owners of this buisness to leave their place open for theft? I mean, stealing is stealing and it is wrong and all that, but how stupid just to leave the place open with all the valuables just sitting there. You've got to be smarter than that people.

I thought they said everything was a total loss. Was some of the items ok. If so how do we find out if our items are ok? And if everything was a total loss why would someone steal it then?
