Conflict Of Interest Filed With Board Of Ethics

By KSFY Staff

Two Sioux Falls City Council members are under fire.

A Sioux Falls resident claims if Bob Litz and Greg Jamison vote on the second penny sales tax plan it will be a conflict of interest.

Scott Ehrisman filed the request with the City Board of Ethics at noon Wednesday.

The Council will soon vote on a package of ordinances including raising the second penny sales tax and adding fees for developers to pay.

Those fees will be used for major road development projects in the city.

Ehrisman says the two councilmen should excuse themselves from voting on the ordinances.

So I believe I'm right and I'm gonna be okay with this vote and if I'm not able to vote I think there's a real challenge ahead for Sioux Falls," said Council Member Greg Jamison.

"I'm not changing my vote one bit. I'm not afraid to go in front of any board of ethics. I don't have a conflict of interest. I am doing this for the citizens of Sioux Falls and the future of Sioux Falls," said Council Member Bob Litz.

Scott Ehrisman is right. We already pay plenty of sales tax here and there needs to be a stop to this trend of tax and spend by our city. The future of Sioux Falls is better off without more tax and overbudgeted road projects. Families are struggling to make ends meet more taxes will make it tougher especially those with lower incomes.

This is what is going to happen if we continue to elect Democrats to office. They not only want but need higher taxes to pay for all their promises to the 'special interests'. John McCain is the only one who can protect us from Islamic terrorism.
