Sanford Health Buys Canton-Inwood Hospital

Sioux Falls-based Sanford Health is purchasing the Canton-Inwood Memorial Hospital.

The sale was approved by local officials from both communities, and the Canton City Commission has extended a land lease to the hospital system.  Sanford has pledged to make $4 million in improvements at the hospital.

The sale will be effective December 31st.  The 22-bed Canton-Inwood Memorial Hospital is located between Canton, South Dakota and Inwood, Iowa.
