Animals Rescued Twice

Tools

By KSFY Staff

The Second Chance Rescue Center is used to taking in animals for all kinds of reasons including abuse or neglect, but this week they actually rescued animals that had already been rescued.

Second Chance spent the week watching over eight cats, five dogs, and even some chickens, ducks, goats and sheep after the owner of another rescue center got into a car accident near Sioux Falls.

The woman had just rescued the animals from Texas, and was driving them back to North Dakota, when she broke her neck in the accident.

The animals were riding in a trailer and were fine, and Second Chance took them in while the owner was in the hospital.

She was released today, but Second Chance says any last minute donations of feed are welcome.

Rosey Quinn, Second Chance Rescue says, "It would be nice to get something to send them down the road with and things like that, but the animals are very, very good and they're very well taken care of."

If you would like to send a donation just call the Second Chance Rescue Center.

GET OVER YOURSELF!! She must have decided that she wanted the animals, went down a gave them a chance with her! Maybe we should be more concerned about how the lady (that broke her neck) is doing, versus why she went to Texas to get the animals!! It was her own perogative to go get them obvious gas prices didn't matter to her!!! People in this world need to learn to worry about themselves!!!

I am just wondering why this person is transporting animals from Texas to North Dakota for care. Kind of a long drive for this purpose with the price of gas. I live in South Dakota which is way closer and if she would like to take care of every animal that has been dumped off here she is more than welcome to. It costs us approximately $500.00 a month for food and vet care. We have everything from pot belly pigs to bengal cats. No donations received but love from those saved. Be responsible
