South Dakota Senator John Thune is supporting a $700 billion financial industry bailout bill.

Thune says he'll vote for the legislation, which will be considered in the Senate this evening. The House rejected a similar bailout Monday.  The plan for to night's vote was set after Senate leaders agreed to add tax breaks for businesses and the middle class and increase deposit insurance in an attempt to revive the legislation rejected by the House.

Thune says the crisis is "very real" and is already affecting South Dakota. He says he supports the bill's added market oversight and curbs on executive pay.  South Dakota's only member of the House, Democrat Stephanie Herseth Sandlin, voted against the bailout Monday.

Thune deserves to go the way of Daschle! I thought he had more brains. Screw the many voters and bend over backwards for the few fat cats. Why listen to the ones who put you in office? It doesn't pay as good. I will remember come election time. Anyone else that thinks this corprate welfare was a good idea needs to look for themselves what damage this did to our country. Don't take it from those lying, thieving criminals in Washington. We need to clean house starting with this traitor.

Way to go Thune. Doing the right thing isn't always in public opinion but we sure do appreciate having a REAL South Dakotan in Washington.
