Doctors are working to fight breast cancer and now you can help too.

By Stephanie Freeman

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and you'd be hard pressed to meet someone who hasn't been impacted by breast cancer in some way or another.

At KSFY, chief meteorologist Phil Schreck's wife is a survivor. Across the nation, 2.5 million women are living with breast cancer and there's an ambitious new effort to fight breast cancer. It's called "Army of Women" and they're trying to recruit one million American women -- whether they're healthy, at high-risk of breast cancer, or survivors of the disease -- to be part of a sweeping research project.

To get involved, visit the "Army of Women" online here.
