Sioux City authorities say a woman is dead after a high-speed chase.

Cassandra Ann Cooper died early Friday when she crashed into a utility pole and a retaining wall, following a high speed chase that reached 100 miles per hour.

A police captain says the owner of the vehicle that Cooper was driving told police his vehicle has been stolen sometime during the night.

All I can say is buy a GM with On Star. And of course pay for the subscription. They know where the car is at all times. (there is of course good and bad to that)

finding a stolen car is not always an easy thing to do. It depends on what the thief intends to do with it. If they are taking it for a joy ride or using it for transportation, sure it is easy find. But if they get to the interstate and head out of state your chances of finding it drop significantly. And if they are planning on chopping the car and selling the parts, you can kiss it good-bye because odds are they'll never find it or the person who took it.

I'm sure they could have found her and the car later. They also could have killed someone else.

I'm not saying that I agree w/ this stupid action that this woman did. However, why chase someone down just for a stolen car? She is dead now and the car is totalled....was this really the right thing to do..
