Police say this case is a great reminder of just how important it is to lock your door every time you go in and out.

It happened in an apartment at 2704 East 8th Street.

Police tell us the man touched the woman on the shoulder and buttocks and then left soon after she woke up.

The suspect police are looking for is described as a white man, 6'2", weighing 170 pounds.

Nichole Scott says she's never heard of something like that.

"It's crazy to think that's actually going to happen. In Sioux Falls you can't even have your sliding door open and have some creep walk in and just climb in bed with you at night," says Nichole.

Police say detectives are now working from information the victim was able to provide as well as one other person.

"They ended up talking to a neighbor who saw this person climbing the balcony and enter though the sliding door into the apartment," said Sioux Falls Police Officer Sam Clemens.

And Nichole says, no matter what police find in this case, it's time for her to make some changes.

She's always left her sliding doors open.

"I'll probably keep locking that from now on," says Nichole.

Police say they don't think the man was in the apartment very long.

The only other clue was that neighbor said he was wearing a green shirt when he went in.
