Winter Weather Moves into the State

Part of western South Dakota are getting the season's first dose of winter weather.

A winter weather advisory for the northwest and the northern Black Hills foothills continues through noon. There's also a winter storm watch for the northwest, Black Hills and northern foothills late tonight through Saturday night.  Meteorologist Susan Sanders says a lot of the early snowfall will melt because the ground is still warm, but she says accumulations are likely as cooler air moves into the area.
