Man Accused of Rape Indicted

By KSFY News

A man arrested in connection with a rape in Sioux Falls last month has been indicted by a grand jury.

21-year-old Jose Eugenio Orellana Lopez was indicted on six counts, including Second Degree Rape, Second Degree Robbery, Second Degree Kidnapping, and Aggravated Assault. Police called the case one of the most brutal rapes they had seen in years.  Police say Lopez had some of the victims belongings on him when he was arrested.

The victim was found in the street near Nelson Park by a passing motorist who took her to the hospital.

If we handled this case like they did 100 years ago, people would think twice before they did the crime.

What would they have done to someone like this 100 years ago? We should do that...
