Lead-Deadwood Secretary Sentenced To Prison (AP)

By Associated Press

A former secretary at Lead-Deadwood High .School who acknowledged stealing $108,000 is going to prison.

Donna Quenzer pleaded guilty to 12 counts of grand theft by embezzlement for taking the money from a dozen trust accounts that contained scholarship funds.

She was sentenced Thursday in Deadwood to 10 years in prison on each count. The sentences will be served concurrently, or at the same time.

Lawrence County State's Attorney John Fitzgerald says the judge
also suspended three years of the sentence, as long as Quenzer repays the money.

She'll be eligible for parole in about three years. Quenzer says she stole the money over six years and used it for personal expenses. She resigned in April.

Hum? A Donna Quenzer from the Northern Hills was convicted in Pennington County about 10 years back for defrauding Phase Tech and ODS. Coincidence? She even faked her own abduction. All to buy tractors and silk flowers. I doubt there are two like this with the same name. Who is watching our schools? Has no one realized she has a history it this?
