Certified Nurse Midwife Lisa Van Gerpen is the primary health care provider of Jessie Johnson, who’s pregnant with her third child.

Johnson said she chose this alternative birthing option because she wanted to specifically tailor her delivery.
National statistics show that soon one in ten babies will be delivered by Certified Nurse Midwives.

 Midwives have a long history of delivering babies, but the profession has come a long way.
