In Aberdeen, Avera St. Luke's has joined one of the fastest spreading health care trends in the nation.

That trend is to staff and run a "walk-in clinic" at a department store.

In this case, Avera St. Luke's opened a Fastcare clinic in the Aberdeen Shopko in late July.

Its appeal is the price: just $49 a visit which includes any lab work done on site. Plus, there is typically no wait and you don't have to call to make an appointment.

Amy Stevahn, CNP at FastCare, said, "We've had a few people stop by the Shopko and say this is a great thing for the community because there hasn't been another walk-in clinic before this. On the weekends, when your regular doctor's office isn't open, they'd have to go to the ER. Now that the FastCare clinic is open 7 days a week it's easier for patients to come in and be seen."
