STD Conference Planned

By Associated Press

The state is planning a conference in Sioux Falls later this month to discuss sexually transmitted infection rates in South Dakota.  A recent national study found that nearly one in four teenage girls are thought to have a sexually transmitted disease. A state health official estimated that the rate could be even higher in South Dakota.

The April 25 conference will bring together health care professionals, educators, counselors and others involved in diagnosing, treating and preventing sexually transmitted infections.  It'll be held at the Sanford USD Medical Center.
