Administrative Fellow Named at Avera Queen of Peace

Jennifer Ann Swanda has been selected as the 2007-2008 Avera Administrative Fellow who will serve her fellowship under the direction of Thomas P. Rasmusson, President and CEO, Avera Queen of Peace. Avera sponsors an Administrative Fellow annually, and the individual who is selected is assigned to one of the Avera regional facilities. In addition to hospital experience, the Administrative Fellow is given the opportunity to experience long-term care and clinic management. Jennifer will work with other members of the Avera Queen of Peace leadership team to gain insight into every facet of hospital management and will be assigned several projects during her tenure at the hospital.

Jennifer is a native of Yankton and received her Masters in Health Care Business Leadership with an emphasis in Project Management from Clarkson College, Omaha, NE, in the spring of 2007. In addition, she received her undergraduate degree in Mass Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations from Minnesota State University, Mankato, in 2002. While attending college, Jennifer worked for the Alegent Health Foundation as a Donor Relations & Special Events Coordinator and as Annual Giving Coordinator and, prior to that, she held several marketing positions including Nebraska Operations Marketing Manager for Kirkham Michael, Omaha, NE.

Jennifer and her husband, Alan Freng, reside in Mitchell. Jennifer is the daughter of Dan and Karen Swanda, Yankton.
