Drug Bust on Interstate 90

By Ellen Serr

The South Dakota Highway Patrol made another major drug bust on Friday.  According to a news release, just after noon on Friday a trooper stopped a car on Interstate 90 just east of Chamberlain for a traffic violation.  During the stop, a drug dog was deployed and discovered the drugs in a false compartment of the vehicle.  Officers discovered 12 pounds of crystal meth and just over 22 pounds of cocaine.

The driver, Arnulfo Olide Felix and passenger, Jorge Hernandez Mora, are both from Mexico.  They were charged with possession of cocaine, possession of methamphetamine, and intent to distribute a controlled substance.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol, the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and Immigration and Customs Enforcement continue to investigate.
