Target Standoff Ends Peacefully

By KSFY News

Shoppers and employees at Sioux Falls Target store had a scare this morning when police responded to what was thought to be two men with weapons in the store.

Police arrested two men at the store on South Louise Avenue about 8:30am after store employees told police they thought the men had some kind of weapon.  It was later determined that the duo had a lighter and were trying to burn the security tags off electronic items.

Police have not released the suspect's names, because there's still some question about who they really are.  The items they are accused of taking are worth about $400.00.  Investigators are still checking to see if they can connect the suspects to any other property crimes.
