Nebraska Teen Drowns In Missouri River

A young man has drown in the Missouri River near Vermillion.

According to the Clay County Sheriff's department, 19-year -old Richard Darrell of Maskell, Nebraska was wading along a sandbar at about 1:45 p.m. on Sunday when he and his seven-year-old brother fell into a deep drop off in cold water.  

Richard was able to push his brother to safety, but Richard continued to struggle and went under.

Rescuers enetered the water immediately in an attempt to find him but they were unsuccessful. They found him nearly two hours later in a deep hole at the same location he was last seen.
