I'm sorry that anyone is ever attacked by an animal. however, i recently visited my daughter--has 2 pits and they darned near licked my face off, slept on my bed, play with the cat-fought only for my attention. when the dogs were purchased, very good instructions were given on how to train. friends of my daughter bring their one year old over, and the dogs let the child ride on them. it is unfortunate that not all pits are trained appropriately, but these dogs are, and they are very loving.

Pitbulls are by nature aggressive. The older they get the more of a danger they are to the public. You'd have better odds trying to tame a rattlesnake, then a pittbull.

A concealed weapon like a snubby .38 Special w/hollowpoint ammo will put anyone on a level playing field against any attacking dog, cougar or sicko..There also was a national story a short time back where a retired trucker grabbed the attacking pitball's collar and choked him to death..As you can tell we do not have the problem of potential random attackers very long in wesriver! Sorry, but NO TEARS are shed, either..Human Life Is Just Too Precious, Not To Be Protected..I am NOT a NRA member!

Don't blame the breed of dog for this incident. Any type of dog (even toy breeds) can be dangerous if taught to defend territory. We should be asking about the owner who didn't have the dog properly restrained or fenced in. We do have leash laws in this state and I hope the owner gets that hefty fine.

pit bulls are fine dogs its the owners who don't train them and take care of them. that kind of dog should be on a leash in a park.

Why must we have pitbulls. We had one that attacked 2 dogs and a person in our neighborhood before things were "handled". I fear for our children.
