Vera Sun to Unveil New Ethanol Blend

By Associated Press

Brookings-based VeraSun Energy plans to launch its new 30 percent ethanol blend Monday in Sioux Falls.  Company officials say the blend will provide another option for owners of flexible-fuel vehicles.

The traditional blend is 10 percent ethanol and 90 percent gasoline.  The Environmental Protection Agency only approves the use of E30 in flexible fuel vehicles, based on requirements of the Clean Air Act.

VeraSun's new VE30 will be test marketed at a Get-N-Go store on south Louise Avenue in Sioux Falls.  The firm also markets an 85 percent ethanol blend.
