Homeowner Surprises Burglars

By Associated Press

A rural Hanson County homeowner showed up Sunday morning to mow the lawn and noticed a broken window in the home's basement.

Authorities say the unidentified owner then went downstairs to check it out and found 39-year-old Juanita Neuhauser and 35-year-old Shane Beck.  Hanson County Sheriff Mark Kessler says the two had been in the house for a couple days before being discovered. He says the two surrendered to the homeowner and now face felony burglary charges.

Kessler says the two did about $1,000 worth of damage to the basement and drank lots of alcohol during their stay. The sheriff says several items stolen from the house were found in their vehicle.

Beck is wanted in two states for previous drug-related crimes.

Why didn't the home owner call for help? This could have turned very ugly. Could have been home owner found dead in basement.

The two losers on the couch were born and inbred in West River.

Did it ever occur to you all that just because they're in HANSON county doesn't mean they live there. They lived West River. And I agree - Typical West River behavior. Disgusting.
