Police Investigate Daycare

The day care was located at 2604 South Avondale.

Sioux Falls Police are investigating a suspicious injury to a 12 week old male child that may have occured while he was in a day care at 2604 South Avondale.

Police say this is an open and ongoing investigation, and no charges have been filed.  However, parents of children who attend the day care have been told of the investigation and the day care has been closed until the investigation is complete.   Police do say the day care is up to date with all city required paperwork.  The registered provider is listed as Pamela Anderson, according to the Sioux Falls Department of Health.  Neighbors say she is a wonderful provider and were surprised at the news that the day care was shut down.

We really don't know IF there are any DSS reports on this daycare..just because one person said that doesn't make it a fact. We don't even know the type of injury to the baby..or IF it even happened at the daycare or if it happened at his/her home.

I feel it is wrong to publish the name of the Daycare BEFORE there are any charges. The reputation if forever ruined and can never be the same. Showing pictures of the Daycare and giving the name when nothing has been proved is just WRONG. If indeed, this happens there I would spread the name on every radio, tv and newspaper but I think to be fair you should not print the name until something has been charged against them. It is absolutely ridiculous that this is even reported before there is even information. Between the media and the city making changes it's just a matter of time before finding daycare in Sioux Falls is nearly impossible. (especially for infants). If there were so many DSS charges against her how does she have any daycare children at all. It's also very easy for angry parents to file a report (anonymously even) because they don't like hearing their children are not angels.

I now this person and I can't emagin the they would do any harm to a child on purpose. I have done childcare is centers and in home. Some times people don't pay there bill and get mad at you. Some times parent abuse there own children and to cover tracts blaim there daycare. There are a LOT of good daycare's! Don't ruin someones rep. untel you have a the information.

I agree with 4:11. Pretty soon it will become so much liability that it will not be worth the work or people will have to pay a high price to get the service. Either way the children suffer.

This is not the first time Pam Anderson has been accused of this. There are multiple DSS files on this woman based on parent complaints.

I do daycare myself and I can't imagine something like this happening. I hope she didn't do this. However, I'm not going to make any accusations or judge anyone until more info. is released.

Who would ever want to work in a day care center? So many accusations before the details are out. And even when found nothing wrong, there will always be that stigma there. Not a job I would want to have..too much liability..even when there is nothing wrong done!
