IRS Re-Sending Stimulus Info Packets

By Associated Press

The Internal Revenue Service said it will send a second set of information packets to more than 11,450 retirees and military veterans in South Dakotans who may be eligible for the federal economic stimulus payment but have not yet filed for it.

The deadline is October 15th. The packages will contain everything needed by a person who normally does not have a federal tax filing requirement but who must file this year in order to receive an economic stimulus payment.

For people such as retirees who have no tax liability or filing requirement, there is a minimum payment of $300 per person, or $600 for married couples.

It comes to mind that you must be some kind of loser if the MILITARY MAKES 6 TIMES your income because the miltary doesn't get paid much.

An unemployed 17 year old is not working therefore is not paying taxes. So they should get a stimulus check because...???

How about unemployed 17 year olds? They do not qualify for the stimulus checks.

Hey Paul maybe you should reread the article. The retirees and military veterans are not getting ANOTHER check. The IRS is RESENDING packets that were needed for the first stimulus check. These packets are being sent to people who did file the first time. Maybe instead of insulting people who helped give and preserve the right for you to comment on here, you should keep your mouth shut. Oh and maybe, just maybe, there's a reason they get paid so much.

Paul----------This website won't print what I think of your attitude towards military people. Think about this. If you had just made that comment in North Korea, Cuba, China or dozens of other places, you would already be in prison. Thank a veteran for your right to run your mouth as you see fit.

If you are jealous of the money they get, maybe you should have joined the military. And they aren't getting a "second" check they are getting a second notice for the first check since they have not filed for their first check yet, so get the facts right.

Maybe you should thank some of these military men and women who have made huge sacrifices so that you can have your freedom of opinion.

I think military men and women should just save the money they make. They make 6 times what i do in 18 months so who really needs another check. But give them more reason to go for broke when they get paid.
