Police, sheriff's deputies and the South Dakota Highway Patrol were involved in a high speed chase south of Platte this afternoon. 

The chase started when Platte police received reports of a vehicle north of town that was running cars off of the road.  A police officer was sent to the scene and was also run off the road.  The suspects vehicle entered town and was abandoned by the occupants after getting a flat tire, according to Platte Police.  The Platte school was locked down as a precaution but was later given the all clear.

Police say the suspects then stole a pickup truck that had the keys left inside of it in front of a Platte business and proceeded southeast of Platte with police in pursuit.  The chase ended near the town of Dante at about 3:45.  Officials say that two of the occupants were apprehended, but police were still looking for one other suspect.  No names have been released at this time.
